Laboratory of separation methods and mass spectrometry

Fundamental processes asserted in separation methods and mass spectrometry are under research in this lab. New approaches in food and toxicological analysis, in identification and determination of metabolites are developed.

- improving of ionization efficiency in mass spectrometric measurements
- collision induced dissociation of ions and ion-molecular reactions
- utilization of nanoparticles and nanotechnologies in mass spectrometry
- development of ion sources
- mass spectrometry in analysis of solid samples  (MALDI, nano-DESI)
- development of systems for separation of polar compounds compatible with mass spectrometry
- problems and applications of hyphenated techniques  (GC/MS, LC/MS, CE/MS)
- fytochemical analysis
- wine analysis
- forensic and toxicological applications (fungal toxins, drug analysis)
- analysis of metabolites
- analysis of chiral compounds
- application of monolithic materials
